With a distinguished 40-year career spanning press, industrial, real estate, and commercial photography, I am a multi-faceted visual artist whose expertise encompasses war photojournalism, documentary filmmaking, and academia. Throughout my career, I have produced and directed prestigious projects that contribute to the collective visual memory on both national and international stages, while imparting this extensive experience to future generations at the academic level.
Ministry Projects and Cultural Promotion: Officially commissioned by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Turkey, my photographic work across more than 30 countries has been featured extensively in official publications, international catalogs, books, posters, and promotional materials.
War Photojournalism and Press Photography: Beginning my conflict-zone experience as a news cameraman during the Bosnian War in 1993, I continued my career as a war photographer in the hot spots of Afghanistan and the Middle East starting in 2003 on behalf of the French agency Sipa Press.
Global Press Representation: My photographs have been widely published worldwide through the world’s most prestigious news and photo agencies, including Sipa Press, Associated Press, Reuters, Zuma Press, Corbis, and Demotix. In 2014, I was invited to participate in Sipa Press's group exhibition at the prestigious Bayeux Calvados Awards for War Correspondents in Normandy, France.
Industrial, Real Estate, and Corporate Solutions: As part of my freelance work, I have managed and delivered high-end visual solutions—including corporate identity, industrial facility, luxury residential/real estate projects, and promotional videos—for numerous national and international brands.
"Diren Gezi" Photo Book (2014): Documenting the Gezi Park social movement of 2013, this bilingual (Turkish and English) documentary-style book was published by Kaynak Publications in 2014.
Underwater Documentary Filmmaking: I directed and personally undertook the underwater cinematography for the documentary film "1915 Çanakkale Naval Battles" on behalf of the AKUT Search and Rescue Association and Foundation.
International Awards: My work "Victory for Disabled Girl," capturing the resilience of adaptive athletes, was awarded an exhibition and achievement prize at the Arbella International Photography Contest.
Yıldız Technical University (2000-2005): Served as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Art and Design for five years, teaching Studio Recording Techniques and Sensory and Visual Communication.
International Children's Education: Designed and implemented photography, graphic design, and 3D design educational programs for children aged 8-12 at the UN-affiliated AKUT Foundation Children's Academy.
IFSAK Seminars: Conducted advanced seminars and workshops for young talents and adult professionals at IFSAK, Turkey’s largest and most respected photography institution.
